SellCell: iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X can be sold profitably before the fall
SellCell, a service for buying and selling used smartphones, has published up-to-date data on iPhone prices. This was reported on the company’s website.
Analysts at the firm noticed that Apple smartphones released in 2017 fell sharply in price after the announcement of iOS 17. According to experts, this is due to the news that the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X will not receive operating system updates.
In this regard, the authors advised the owners of the devices to sell these gadgets as soon as possible, having time before September, since the public release of iOS 17 will take place in early autumn. SellCell experts called summer the best time to resell smartphones, citing statistics from 2022 as an example.
According to the material, in June 2022 it became known that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 will not receive updates to iOS 16. By mid-June, the cost of devices in the secondary market decreased by 8 percent, by the end of the month this figure reached 30 percent. By the end of the summer, the devices had already depreciated to 43 percent.
Earlier it became known that the compact smartphone iPhone 12 mini fell in price to a record high in the Russian market. If at the start of sales the device was estimated at 70 thousand rubles, then at the beginning of summer it was available for 42 thousand rubles.
