In defiance of their duty, some police officers extorted money from a merchant in a town near Bogotá, Colombia.

According to a report by Snail Newsa group of merchants sued that two police officers had been arrested red-handed while receiving extortion money they had committed because they wanted to take a person into custody for an alleged judicial process.

The publication indicates that there were two million pesos, about $500, those who asked and did not have the money contacted the police.

When intercepted they noticed one of the uniformed officers eating the money they had in a balaclava and wouldn’t open his mouth, they managed to eat a million pesos.

When he was brought into the patrol car, one of the uniformed men denied knowing what they were talking about and developed a sore throat, for which he then took him to a medical centre. They also showed stomach problems.

At the hearing, the uniformed officers denied the allegations against them.
