Expert Kuskov: a person can temporarily leave the spammer database by changing his phone number
Expert Denis Kuskov said that every day a smartphone user receives at least one call or SMS with advertising. A specialist in an interview with the Prime agency named a way to remove a phone number from the spammer database.
According to Kuskov, it is impossible to completely remove data from all databases. Since a person does not know how many different sources exist – public and non-public, which contain his data. In some, the Russian himself enters his contacts, for example, in social network profiles. These data can be removed if desired, Kuskov recalled.
Users have the most questions when it is necessary to leave their number in some organization, the expert noted. Such bases are sold everywhere, including on the dark web. From there, nothing can be removed by an ordinary person, said Denis Kuskov.
A person receives temporary protection from calls from “spammers” if he changes his phone number to a new one. This data will initially be missing from the databases.
“But after a while, one way or another, there will be updates to the database and your phone will appear in a possible spam mailing list,” the specialist warned.
Kuskov advised not to leave your number anywhere if possible. If you want to use advertisements, then it is better to purchase separate SIM cards for this. But you will never be able to fully defend yourself, the expert concluded.
Earlier, expert Vahe Zakaryan said that messages from scammers can now be received in a variety of ways and in various formats. These can be ordinary SMS messages, and messages in instant messengers, social networks. According to the expert, clear signs of an attacker’s message are direct requests to provide personal information or follow a suspicious link.
