There are countless scams. who take over our account, most often use it to write to our friends and extort money from them, e.g. via BLIK. They can also post fake news on our behalf with links to websites where they take over login details from other people. However, Facebook scammers are easy to get rid of.
How to log a hacker out of a Facebook account?
Facebook secures our account for such cases. If the hacker hasn’t changed our password and we still have access to it, go to the settings. There you should look for “Passwords and security”. Depending on the device we use, it can be in the settings in the “Security” section or in the “Account Center”.
Under “Passwords and Security” you should then click “Login Location”. We select the appropriate account and a list of devices with cities is displayed. If any of them seems suspicious to us, just select it. The logout option will appear. We click on it and the intruder loses access to our account. All that remains is to change and additionally secure the account so that such situations do not happen again.
How to secure your Facebook account?
The safest method will be to use two-factor login, also known as two-step login. This can be done in the same place where you logged out the hacker, but this time you should select the “Two-factor authentication” option.
Thanks to this, each time you log in, you will have to confirm it in one of three selected ways. Facebook may provide you with security codes, but these should be copied and kept in a safe place so that you can enter them when logging in. So it will be easier to use an external application or SMS. We recommend the latter, it is an easier option and does not require us to log in to another . In addition, various kinds of authenticators require backups when changing phones. One of our editors didn’t and unfortunately lost access to Facebook – he had to create an account again. When verifying via SMS, you also need to remember to update the phone number in the login settings, if we change it. This, however, happens much less often than in the case of themselves.
