Moscow and its surroundings have so far rarely been attacked by drones since the beginning of the conflict with Ukraine, although such actions have increased in other parts of Russia.

The airports closest to the city are operating normally, that’s how they assured the agency BAG spokesmen for Domodedovo and Zhukovsky air terminals, as no drones were detected in their vicinity, while traffic was cut off on some streets near the scene of the incident.

The attack follows a similar operation in the Ukrainian capital Kiev, where Russian drones killed at least one person Monday evening, the city’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, said.

Russia also launched a broad daylight attack on Kievspread panic in the city.

But attacks on Moscow have been rare in the conflict.

In early May, two drones were shot down over the Kremlin, the seat of Russian power, in an attack blamed on Ukraine.
