Nine people, including minors, were hospitalized on Monday the 29th after a mass shooting that took place on the beach boardwalk in the city of Hollywoodlocated about 30 kilometers north of Miami (Florida, USA).

A spokesman for the City of Hollywood confirmed that all nine people had been shot. The incident occurred in the 1200 block of N. Broadwalk or near the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort. At least three of the shooting victims are minors, according to crime scene reports..

CBS reported that at 6:41 p.m., a live camera from the area showed people frantically fleeing the scene.

The shooting started with an altercation between two groupswhich, according to Hollywood officials, led to gunfire.

One person has been arrested and police are looking for a second suspect.

Several of those victims were transported to Memorial Regional Hospital and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

The condition of the victims of the shooting is not known..

Hollywood Police asked people to avoid the Hollywood Beach areafrom Johnson to Garfield Street and Hollywood Beach Broadwalk, as the investigation continues.
