The corporation showed the gaming device during the presentation of the PlayStation Showcase. The device, codenamed Project Q, has an eight-inch display and an integrated controller. The console allows you to play games on the PlayStation 5 over Wi-Fi via the Remote Play function.
Sony noted that the portable set-top box will receive an IPS screen and will run games at a resolution of 1080 pixels at 60 frames per second. The controller has the same features and functions as the DualSense controller for PS5. The release of the device will take place before the end of the year, its cost is not disclosed.
Journalists from The Verge, who studied the Sony press release, noted that the console will be positioned “as a companion” of the PlayStation 5 and will not work separately from it. Titles that the user wants to play on Project Q must be installed on the PS5.
At the end of the PlayStation Showcase 2023 online presentation, Sony showed the gameplay of the new Spider-Man 2 game from Insomniac Games. The release of the title will take place before the end of the year.
