Users can turn their locked iPhones into smart displaysthis would come in the new Apple operating system, iOS 17. This information was revealed by the journalist specializing in Bloomberg technology, Mark Gurman, who points to some of the news that the company could bring with the bitten apple.
NEW: Apple is planning a new smart display-like mode in iOS 17, a new interface for information and notifications when an iPhone is locked and in landscape mode, as a major new feature. It is a potential precursor to a standalone Apple smart home hub. https://t.co/mgFsu4nQ6x

The new feature for iOS 17 works by using the iPhone’s lock screen as a canvas to display information. When an iPhone is locked and placed horizontally, the user can see a variety of information including upcoming events, reminders, weather, notifications, news headlines, sports scores, stock quotes and more.
Mark Gurman points out that iOS 17’s smart display mode is a black background and text with high brightness level. In addition, he noted that this feature would also be there for the iPad, but this would come some time later.
Other novelties of iOS 17
Apple has already confirmed a series of innovations focused on accessibility that will come with iOS 17.
They will be compatible with iOS 17 devices outside the iPhone X/8/8 Plus range, the first generation iPad Pro, both 9.7 and 12.9 inches, as well as the fifth generation iPad, so compatibility remains one of the highest on the market.
The iOS 17 system will be presented to the world on June 5, on the first day of WWDC 2023, but the release date has not been defined, it could arrive in September or October with the new iPhones.
