An earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale struck on Wednesday. the border area between Colombia and Panama No casualties have been reported for the time being, reports the Colombian Geological Survey (SGC).
The quake struck at 22:05 local time (03:05 GMT) and had its epicenter at a point in the Caribbean Sea, 41 kilometers from the Caribbean municipality of Acandí, in the Department of Antioquia (northwest), the SGC added to its bulletin.
The depth of the telluric movement was superficial and felt in much of the country, mainly in the coastal municipalities in the north and northwest of the country.

Despite the magnitude of the quake, the National Risk Management Unit (UNGRD) pointed out that there is “no tsunami threat to the Caribbean coast” of the Andean country, according to a report by Dimar (Colombia’s maritime authority).
