According to , the police intends to spend PLN 8.6 million on computer forensics software. One of the purchased applications will be used to break security and other devices that officers will seize as part of their operational activities. The software will allow for downloading data from memory cards, drones and GPS navigation, as well as recovering files that have been deleted.
The second application allows you to copy data that is stored on blocked mobile devices. This software is used for phones equipped with popular operating systems, and also allows you to recover data from various types of messengers.
The police are intensifying their efforts to counteract cross-border computer crime
The Main Police Headquarters justified the purchase of the software with the need to “combat cross-border computing”. The service also organizes necessary training for officers. An important undertaking in this context is a project financed from the Norwegian Funds worth EUR 4.4 million. Its goal is to “improve the process of collecting, analyzing and evaluating evidence in the field of combating cross-border computer crime, using the network of computer forensics laboratories of the Polish police.”
