The woman from Lublin was recently contacted by a man claiming to be a consultant from her bank. The interlocutor convinced the 49-year-old that there was an attempt to break into the account where she kept her savings. An unknown perpetrator was supposed to try to steal her money after – thanks to another bank employee – the woman’s personal data allegedly leaked. The victim was convinced that she was talking to her bank representative and believed that she had to transfer her savings so as not to lose them. The scammer initially persuaded her to withdraw 50,000 from the account. PLN, and after another call she paid another 9 thousand. zloty.

Unfortunately, instead of keeping the money at home or depositing it into an account in another bank, the inhabitant of Lublin decided to trust the scammers. She lost all 59,000. Although the police do not specify it, the woman most likely received BLIK codes from scammers, which she used to make a payment and thus transferred the funds to the criminals herself. The services also remind you never to install the so-called remote desktop, which is encouraged by criminals. Such programs give full control over the victim’s phone and allow fraudsters to withdraw funds from their account on their own.
