A study by The Bulimia Project revealed how artificial intelligence suggests it’s the perfect body. This approach is a way of demonstrating the unrealistic structures these platforms offer.

The platform pointed out that the impact of social networks on people’s mental health makes it a hot topic among psychologists.

The results showed that 40% of images generated by artificial intelligence showed unrealistic body types. In the case of women, they favored blonde hair, brown eyes, and olive skin.

37% of the generated images had blonde hair, 30% had brown eyes, and 53% had olive skin.

In the case of men, the images were more outlined with brown hair, brown eyes and olive skin. 47% of the images had facial hair.

The Bulimia Project asked several artificial intelligence imagers what the perfect body would look like in 2023.

The bulimia project noted that images inspired by social media were more sexually charged than those on the World Wide Web.

“Given that social networks use algorithms based on which content gets the most attention, it’s easy to guess why AI representations would be more sexualized. But we can only assume that the reason AI has created so many bizarre versions of the physique it found on social media is that these platforms promote unrealistic body types to begin with.”

So told data journalist James Campigotto, who worked on the investigation Fox News digital that this was to explore the biases and dangers of this kind of technology and that the results show that the type of body they show is far from what an average person can get, so it can negatively affect people.

Similarly, he was surprised by the lack of diversity in the representations inspired by social networks.
