Apple to Add 48MP Camera to iPhone 15 and 15 Plus

Apple will significantly improve the camera of the cheapest smartphones of the 2023 generation. This is reported by MacRumors.

Portal journalists got acquainted with the report of Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu, according to which all smartphones of the iPhone 15 series will receive a camera with a 48-megapixel lens. According to Pu, the devices will have a new three-layer sensor that will capture more light. This will allow the device’s cameras to capture better photos and videos in low light conditions.

At the same time, the analyst is confident that with this decision, the American company will complicate the supply chain. Ultimately, this may mean that the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus – supposedly the most affordable smartphones of the new line – will be delayed in the market.

The first 48-megapixel camera appeared in Apple smartphones with the release of the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. The sensor allows you to shoot photos in ProRAW mode, which retain more details with further editing. The base iPhone 14 and 14 Plus remained with a 12-megapixel dual camera.

In mid-March, analyst Jeff Pu said that Apple’s new premium smartphones will be more expensive than current ones. This is due to the fact that the American corporation will have to apply new technologies when creating them.
