American pilots and officials are worried about the increasing cases of explosions of gadgets on board aircraft. This is reported by the publication Hot Hardware.

The journalists of the portal referred to a CBS report, according to which the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) drew attention to the frequent cases of explosions and fires of gadgets on board the airliners. According to experts, over the past five years, the number of reported cases has increased by 42 percent – their total number was 5319 incidents.

According to experts, smartphones and other devices can explode or catch fire due to a faulty battery. The battery can produce toxic smoke or dangerous fragments that directly endanger the aircraft and passengers.

The US Department of Transportation (DOT) noted that nearly 30 percent of all incidents involve lithium-ion battery fires. Hot Hardware journalists said that any batteries fail sooner or later. Therefore, experts recommended that you carefully examine your gadgets before flying for damage and always take devices with batteries as hand luggage.

In early May, the Electronics Hub service specialists talked about the simplest and most difficult phones to maintain. The easiest in terms of repair was Motorola Moto G7, the most difficult – Google Pixel 7.
