Google introduced the first foldable smartphone

Google announces $1,799 foldable Pixel Fold smartphone

The American company Google has announced the first folding smartphone. A recording of the presentation is available on the company’s YouTube channel.

The device received two halves, interconnected by a hinge. The outer screen has a 5.8-inch OLED-matrix with support for a frequency of 120 hertz, protective glass Gorilla Glass Victus and a maximum brightness of 1200 nits. The main folding OLED display received a 7.6-inch diagonal with support for a frequency of 120 hertz and a peak brightness of 1450 nits.

The introduced Pixel Fold received a Google Tensor G2 processor with a Titan M2 security coprocessor. Also, the device has 12 gigabytes of RAM and 256 or 512 gigabytes of internal memory format UFS 3.1. The flagship was valued at $1,799, or about 135,000 rubles. The device will go on sale in June.

Also, the device has a triple camera with lenses with a resolution of 48, 10.8 and 10.8 megapixels. The device is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 4821 milliamp-hours. The smartphone runs on Android 13.

Google showed a teaser of its first foldable device in early May. The corporation showed an image of the device and called it “the first foldable phone developed by Google.”
