From widow to perpetrator? An unexpected twist in the investigation process records the case of a man who died in 2022. His wife is on the murder suspect list.
Kouri Richins, 33, was detained on May 8, 2023, Noticias Telemundo reported. The husband died 14 months ago and Kouri said at the time that she found him inert in the bed in her room.
To overcome the pain of losing her partner, the woman who specializes in real estate sales wrote a book called Are you with me? (You are with me?).
The publication, with illustrations, promoted him in television and radio interviews. He said he came up with it “to help kids cope with the death of a loved one.”
What is happening to this woman today is outrageous. Authorities indicated that the autopsy found “a lethal amount of fentanyl (drug)” in her husband’s body.
It is now known that the man suspected something. “During the investigation into the death, a relative of Eric’s told me they suspected his wife had something to do with his death,” an investigator said, according to court documents.
“They said he warned them that if anything happened to her, she was to blame,” TN added.
Fentanyl, 50 times more potent than heroin, is causing “the worst drug crisis in US history”.

She found her husband “cold” in bed
Kouri and Eric Richins had three children and lived in Kamas, a city in Utah, United States.
The woman called 911 at dawn on March 4, 2022 when she noticed that her husband was unresponsive. She came back from one of her children’s room, “because he was having nightmares.”
Prior to that episode, Kouri said she “made Eric a vodka-based cocktail to celebrate the sale of a house”.
Then the question of the son arose, whom he was going to take care of. As said, she fell asleep next to the little one. “He said he woke up around 3 a.m. and went back to the bedroom he shared with Eric,” it was heard.
He felt it (and) it felt cold. At that time, the defendant called 911.

fentanyl
The press said what the widow has stated “she left her cell phone in the bedroom she shared with Eric, but phone records show she used it several times from her son’s room.”
The autopsy “determined that there was five times the amount of fentanyl allowed into the man’s body by the human body.”
In addition, the investigation found that the woman allegedly requested “prescription pain medication for an investor” between December 2021 and February 2022, according to court documents.
Media such as DW citing the AP agency reported that investigators found that Kouri D. Richins had asked an acquaintance to give him a strong prescription for pain medication, specifically “something Michael Jackson-type”. Richins reportedly received up to 30 fentanyl pills.
Eric Richins “told a friend he thought his wife was trying to poison him,” according to investigative documents reported by Fox 13.
According to TN, “Police discovered that six days before Eric’s death, Kouri bought about 30 fentanyl pills from a drug dealer for $900.”

On the third try?
Apparently, the woman tried to take her partner’s life twice. “According to police, Eric told his sister that he believed his wife had tried to kill him multiple times and even cut her out of his will,” TN continued.
They explained that twice: once in Greece, where they traveled to and after he had a drink, Eric fell ill; and then in February 2022 he ate a sandwich. “After one bite, Eric gushed all over his body and couldn’t breathe. She used her son’s epi-pen and Benadryl before passing out for several hours,” police said.
Everything indicates that the researchers may be dealing with a “black widow”. Kiuri lamented the unexpected death of her 39-year-old husband in every interview.
“My children (10, 9 and 6 years old) and I write about sadness (…) and we hope that the book can help other children deal with this and somehow find happiness,” he noted on.
