American writer Kouri Richins has been charged with murder after she wrote a book about coping with her husband’s death.

The book, entitled ‘Are You With Me? (Are you with me?)”, was published months after Richins’ death, who was found dead in March 2022.

Richins told police she mixed a drink for her husband and put it to bed. When she returned later, she found that he “feels cold to the touch,” Fox 13 reported Monday.

An autopsy revealed that he died of a fentanyl overdose, with five times the lethal amount in his body.

Investigators found that Kouri Richins had asked an acquaintance to give her a highly prescribed pain reliever, specifically “something Michael Jackson-type.”

Richins received up to 30 fentanyl pills.

A few days later, Eric Richins “told a friend he thought his wife was trying to poison him,” according to investigative documents reported by Fox 13.

Shortly after her husband died, Kouri Richins had access to another batch of fentanyl.

Her book, which appeared almost exactly a year after her husband’s death, is described in the ad as “comforting and reassuring.”

“Written by a mother who personally faced this challenge, this book is intended to provide comfort and comfort to the very young.”

“‘Are you on my side?’ follows the story of a boy who has lost his father, but is reminded that his presence is still near, like an angel watching from above.”

Richins faces charges of aggravated manslaughter and three counts of possession with attempted distribution of a controlled substance.
