Authorities in Hopewell, New Jersey, announced Monday that they attended an unusual emergency. It was the report of the fall of a possible meteorite into a house.

The metal object went through the roof of a house and ended up in a bedroom where no one was, so there were no injuries.

While the nature of the object is still under investigation, it is suspected to be part of the currently developing meteor shower called the Eta Aquarids.

Speak against CBSNews, Suzy Kop said the object fell into her father’s room and they thought they had thrown a rock. “We think it’s a meteor, it went through this, it hit the floor here because it was completely damaged, it bounced up to this part of the ceiling and eventually hit the floor,” he added.

Only drywall was broken and he said he touched the possible meteorite and it was hot.

The meteor shower will last until May 27 and the peak is expected to arrive on the last Saturday.

The incident is being investigated by authorities.
