The Chinese manufacturer does not hide that when designing the smartphone, he paid special attention to the camera. Photography has been a strong point of the entire P series for many years. But let’s start with the dry facts, i.e. the specifications.
Top specification, but without 5G
The heart of the Huawei P60 Pro is the top Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, which works with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of data space. This is no longer the latest unit from Qualcomm, although it still provides great performance, which can be clearly seen after the first moments spent with the smartphone. The Huawei P60 Pro also has the entire set of wireless communication modules needed in addition to 5G. Unfortunately – as in previous models – we will only use 4G on Huawei smartphones, which for some people can be a big minus.
In addition, we have a screen with a diagonal of 6.67 inches and a high resolution of 2700 x 1220 pixels made in OLED technology. Of course, there was also support for a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The display itself is slightly bent at the corners, which not everyone will like, but it is an interesting stylistic addition. The whole thing is powered by a 4815 mAh battery with support for fast wired charging (88 W) and wireless charging up to 50 W (with reverse charging 7.5 W). When we use it, we have to wait only 10 minutes to charge the smartphone halfway, according to the manufacturer’s assurances. It is worth mentioning that the entire construction is of course waterproof (confirmed by the IP68 certificate).
Photo opportunities
Huawei decided to use three cameras in the P60 Pro. The main one is a 48 Mpix unit with optical image stabilization and – what is extremely important – with a variable mechanical aperture in the range from f/1.4 to f/4.0. This is an extremely bright lens, which must translate into great work in difficult lighting conditions and – as the first moments spent with the smartphone show – the Huawei P60 Pro actually does great during night photo sessions.
In addition to the main camera, there are two others – an ultra-wide-angle one with a resolution of 13 Mpix (with f / 2.2 light) and a 48 Mpix camera with a very bright 3.5x periscope telephoto lens and support for optical image stabilization. The bright IOS telephoto lens promises very decent quality of photos, but we will write more about the work of all cameras soon in a separate text.

Design and price
Huawei P60 Pro will be available in two colors – matte black and pearl. Huawei points out that in the case of the second variety, each smartphone that goes on sale will have a unique pattern. Regardless of the color version, the Huawei P60 Pro fits perfectly in the hand, is relatively slim (8.3 mm), weighs 200 grams, and its back does not collect fingerprints. The smartphone is to appear in stores in Poland on May 9 (until June 4 it will be in the pre-sale offer) and will be sold at PLN 5,499 for the 8/256 GB version or PLN 6,299 for the 12/512 GB configuration.
The new foldable Huawei Mate X3
In addition to the flagship smartphone from the P series, Huawei also presented the next generation of its foldable smartphone – Mate X3. As in the case of the P60 Pro, the Snapdragon 8 Gen. 1 with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of data space is responsible for the performance of the “folder”. The smartphone has a main LTPS screen (internal) with a diagonal of 7.85 inches and a resolution of 2496 x 2224 pixels (120 Hz) and an additional OLED (external) screen with a diagonal of 6.4 inches and a resolution of 2504 x 1080 pixels (120 Hz).

Huawei boasts that in the case of the Mate X3 a lot of attention has been paid to the cameras, which should translate into great photo quality. Three cameras are at the user’s disposal – the main (50 Mpix, f / 1.8), ultra-wide-angle (13 Mpix, f / 2.2) and tele (12 Mpix, f / 3.4). The whole is powered by a battery with a capacity of 4800 mAh, and the smartphone itself is surprisingly slim and light (compared to other “folders” on the market). However, we will write more about the Huawei Mate X3 in a separate text. Finally, it is worth mentioning that both the Huawei P60 Pro and Mate X3 (like all other Huawei smartphones) do not have access to Google services, but their own Huawei Mobile Services.
