MacRumors: Apple Adds 1st Generation iPad Air to Legacy List
Apple has added to the list of obsolete gadgets. This is reported by MacRumors.
An American corporation defines a device as obsolete if more than seven years have passed since the end of its sales. Based on this, Apple has declared obsolete the very first iPad Air – the first generation device was released in November 2013. The company also added a Thunderbolt Display monitor to the list of vintage gadgets.
The iPad Air tablet received a 9.7-inch IPS display, an Apple A7 processor, 1 gigabyte of RAM, 16 gigabytes of internal memory, a single 5 megapixel camera, and an 8600 milliamp-hour battery. Also, the device has a Home button with a fingerprint sensor Touch ID.
Introduced in 2011, the Thunderbolt Display had a 27-inch screen. The monitor was priced at $999 and was discontinued in 2016.
In early April, insiders said that the iPhone X would not receive an update to iOS 17. Thus, Apple recognizes the first smartphone with a “monobrow” as obsolete.
