According to insiders, the IT giant intends to compete with Apple, which has been producing computers based on its own processors since 2020. Also, the new chips will be adapted to work with the new generation operating system Windows 12.
“Combining these new chips with the upcoming Windows 12 operating system could significantly improve the performance and efficiency of Microsoft devices,” the authors of the publication noted. Probably, the first processors will be presented at the end of 2024 – at the same time, Microsoft should announce a new generation of the operating system for computers.
At the end of April, sources reported that the American corporation Microsoft has been working on the creation of processors for artificial intelligence since 2019. It turned out that due to the explosive popularity of the ChatGPT chatbot and similar tools, the corporation decided to speed up the process of creating chips.
