The chairman of Peru, Dinah Boluarterenewed part of his cabinet this Sunday after being appointed four new ministersincluding the head of the Justice Department in the second major rebuild he has undertaken since taking power last December.
The changes in the cabinet, which consists of 19 ministers, took place in the portfolios of Foreign trade, education, justice and work.

The most notable case was that of Justice, where Daniel Maurate replaced José Tello. Tello’s departure coincides with his arrival in Peru on Sunday former president Alexander Toledoextradited by the United States in a case of corruption and money laundering, and whom he described as a “criminal”.
Boluarte confirmed his right-hand man and number two in the government, Alberto Otárola, as chairman of the Council of Ministers.
The Peruvian president must rule until July 2026when his term ends, after overcoming the protests against him that left more than 50 dead between December and February.
Boluarte was Peru’s vice president until December 7 last year, when she replaced the leftist Pedro Castillo removed by Congress after his failed coup.
