Google will allow artificial intelligence to create ads. They are to be tailored especially for us

Google will use artificial intelligence to create advanced advertising campaigns that will be displayed in search results. The Internet giant wants the advertisements to be created perfectly profiled for a specific user.

Google already uses, for example, the search history to display ads that will be of the greatest interest to a particular Internet user. That’s why we usually see ads for products we’re actually interested in. However, Google displays spots or images created by advertising agencies.

Google will use artificial intelligence to generate ads

Now the American giant is planning to enter the next level. According to the documentation obtained by the “Financial Times”, Google will soon put artificial intelligence to work, and specifically it will use the engine that drives the Google Bard chatbot. AI will be responsible not only for profiling ads, but for the entire process of creating advertising content. As the British daily describes, artificial intelligence will be able to generate “sophisticated campaigns”, similar to those for which advertising agencies are responsible today. According to the documentation, the basis for AI will be materials provided to Google by advertisers – texts, photos and videos. Artificial intelligence will use these materials to generate its own advertising materials. What is extremely important, it will be able to generate advertisements designed specifically for specific people or groups of recipients. All this, of course, so that we are even more likely to click on advertisements displayed on the Internet.

As a person familiar with the matter told the “FT”, Google’s decision raises doubts because the content generated by AI may contain lies. As a result, artificial intelligence – unless the ads are checked by humans – can spread misinformation in ads. However, Google reserves that it will introduce “robust protective barriers” before artificial intelligence is harnessed to work on advertising campaigns.
