While Twitter Blue had been around for a few months with certain benefits for subscribers who met eligibility criteria, since April 20, the real change is apparent. LeBron Jamesthe basketball player; Stephen Kingthe writer of horror works and the actor William Shatner, they did not lose their badge yesterday. On his Twitter account, Elon Musk had noted that he “personally” paid for some ticks.

LeBron James had commented in a tweet that he would lose his badge because he refused to pay the money that Musk’s platform asked for. “Well I think my blue ‘visto’ will disappear soon because if you know me I’m not paying the 5,” the athlete wrote in March. No word yet on Musk’s gift.

On the other hand, Stephen King was surprised to keep the verification badge since he had not subscribed to the application. “My Twitter account says I signed up for Twitter Blue. I did not do it. My Twitter account says I gave a phone number. I don’t,” King said yesterday.

Elon Musk responded to his tweet: “You’re welcome. Namaste”.

However, other stars such as Beyoncé, Shakira, Luis Miguel, Bad Bunny and Lady Gaga have lost their badge and won’t get it until they sign up, or until Elon Musk decides to pay for it himself.
