A chilling sacrifice was unveiled in India over the weekend, where a couple decided to decapitate themselves to simultaneously offer their heads in front of a “fire altar”.

The events took place in Vinkhiya, Gujarat, India.

Quoted in Daily Mail, on Monday, April 17, 2023, Vinchhiya Police Deputy Inspector Indrajeetsinh Jadeja noted that the “ritual” took place between Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.

To decapitate themselves at the same time, Hemubhai Makwana, 38, and his wife Hansaben, 35, used a homemade guillotine.

According to El Tiempo, the couple’s children found the bodies amid the gruesome scene recorded at the Makwana farm.

They left a letter for the chilling sacrifice

Hembhai and Hansaben, according to their relatives, have been “praying at their house every day since last year.”

In turn, they “posted an image of Lord Shiva and made a Shivling with mud which they worshiped,” the Colombian media added.

Knowing the shocking fact, they said on Sunday April 16 that the couple had left a letter asking them to look after their children – aged 12 and 13 – and their parents. In the handwritten letter, they apparently left their thumbprints, reported El Tiempo.

“We are taking statements from family members and are trying to find out the reason for the couple’s extreme move,” authorities told local media. The bodies have been sent for a post-mortem examination and one case of accidental death has been recorded, the Daily Mail reports.

Black magic

Reviewing this British medium, the double beheading recalled the case of two women who were “abducted, tortured and decapitated as part of what was feared to be a black magic human sacrifice ritual last October.”

Bhagaval Singh, “a traditional healer who treated patients at home”; his wife Laila and Mohammed Shafi, an “occult practitioner”, were arrested in Kerala, India, after the bodies of Padmam, 57, and Rosili, 49, were discovered.

In addition, on April 5, 2023, the French press agency reported the arrest of 5 men involved in the murder of a woman during a ritual sacrifice. The decapitated body was discovered four years ago in a Hindu temple.

Shanti Shaw was 64 years old and was beheaded with a machete at a temple in Guwahati town, Asam state. Seven other people are wanted in the case.

Police announced that, according to the investigation, one of those arrested, Pradeep Pathak, “orchestrated the woman’s sacrifice as part of a religious ritual to commemorate the anniversary of his brother’s death. Apparently, the defendant believed that this sacrifice would appease the soul of the deceased.
