Time Magazine has its list of the 100 most influential personalities of 2023 including two Latin American rulers and Argentine star Lionel Messi.

Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil, and Gustavo Petro, President of Colombia, are part of the list, which is divided into six categories. Both are classified as leaders.

The publication also contains some words of other characters. From Colombian Gustavo Petro, his Chilean counterpart Gabriel Boric – who was already on this list last year – emphasizes his “dare” to talk about “complex issues”, such as the “failure” of the United States anti-drug policy.

While Al Gore described Lula and said he hopes Lula’s greatest impact will be on the “twin crises of climate and biodiversity”. His leadership, he says, “will be essential in this defining decade for climate action.”

Joe Biden is also on the list that also highlights Ukrainian first lady Olena Zelenska.

Ukraine’s first lady occupies first place in the leadership section, despite the fact that “she never asked to be the center of attention,” says another first lady of hers, the American Jill Biden, who assures that despite the fact that she never asked to be at war in the heart of the country, “he answered the call with selfless courage.”

Argentine star Lionel Messi, on the other hand, is described by retired tennis player Roger Federer as amazed that he has kept his “greatness” for so many years. “He dribbles like a wizard and his angular passes are works of art and his concentration and anticipation are almost incomprehensible.” He falls into the Titans category.

Chilean actor Pedro Pascal, on the other hand, is described as a “powerful, moving, hilarious, goofy man, capable of the deepest conversations, willing to hold your hair when you’re sick and with the broadest shoulders to lean on.” by her friend Sarah Paulson.
