A new method of logging in to a trusted profile. Now all it takes is one click on your smartphone

The government has released a new method of approving logins to a trusted profile. The change will make our life much easier, because you no longer have to rewrite your password or enter your banking login details. It is enough to confirm the notification from the mObywatel application on the phone.

The government mObywatel application was supposed to be a digital wallet for e-documents and a place where we can check a lot of information about us. Using the telephone, we can deal with the matter at the office (using a digital ID card), share your OC policy number with another driver and check the number of penalty points. In the app you will also find several other documents (e.g. student ID card, large family card), we will display an e-prescription, and we will also log in to the e-Tax Office to fill in the PIT. Now, one more very useful function has been added to mObywatel.

mObywatel will help to settle the matter via the Internet

As the digitization of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister informed, the mObywatel application will greatly simplify the use of a trusted profile. This includes both logging into your profile and approving any changes and signing. This is a great convenience, because until now, in order to authorize, it was necessary to rewrite the SMS password or use the not very convenient option of logging in to mobile banking. Now, when logging in and approving applications, a push notification will be sent to the phone with mObywatel installed, asking for approval. This will make it much easier and faster to use the trusted profile. As the office reminds, with the help of a notification from the application, we can e.g. sign an application for the 500+ benefit, send a declaration to the tax office and arrange many other e-services in public administration.

The authorization option via the mObywatel application should now work for all users, but it is not activated automatically. First of all, you need to change the default login method on the trusted profile page (pz.gov.pl) by going to the “Trusted profile” tab (the button is hidden under the user’s name), and then to “Profile details” and “Change method authorization”. There, just select “PUSH notifications” from the list and confirm the change.
