The new ‘Order and Pick up’ feature has been enabled in the 31 McDonald’s restaurants in the country, allowing the customer to geo-locate which restaurants are closest to the reference point so that they can place their order and pick up faster and faster. more convenient, whether it is AutoMac, parking lot delivery, over-the-counter or table delivery. All this according to the characteristics of each local.
In the case of the counter, the customer sees his order number on the monitors in the collection area, while in the case of AutoMac, the customer has to provide the order number. In the delivery function at the table, the customer must enter the table number chosen in the restaurant, and in the case of withdrawal in the parking lot, the customer must be in the space allocated for this function and enter the chosen parking number. In addition to these options, there is the function ‘McDelivery’, that is, you can also purchase through the application and choose home delivery.
“We have great participation within our app. It is one of the most downloaded in our segment and users basically used it to take advantage of the coupons offered. Now they can continue to do so with the advantage of being able to purchase the full menu available in our 31 restaurants and at the same time pay directly in the application from their home, office or car and pick it up at the restaurant they have chosen,” says Hugo López, Business IT Manager of Arcos Dorados Ecuador.
According to the ECommerce Industry Report 2021-2022 by the company BlackSip, currently 49% of Ecuadorians who shop online do so via their mobile phone. ‘Order and Pick Up’ and ‘McDelivery’ of the McDonald’s App – My McD – target an audience whose consumption patterns have changed dramatically. “A major concern for users is the security of their data and in that sense we are quite protected against transactions from the moment we start them until we finish them,” added López.
