Reuters: Chinese search engine Baidu sues Apple over fake copies of its bot
Chinese search engine Baidu has sued US Apple and app developers over fake copies of its Ernie bot available on the AppStore. It is reported by Reuters.
The artificial intelligence bot Ernie, which the search engine launched in March, is touted as the Chinese answer to the ChatGPT chat bot, which was created in the United States.
Baidu AI reported on its WeChat account that Ernie currently does not have an official app.
In July 2022, the American bank Affinity Credit Union sued Apple for restricting the payments feature in the App Store. Representatives of the credit organization said that the American company created a monopoly in its own store, as it limited the functions of third-party payments on the platform. The company was accused of only allowing app purchases through Apple Pay, thus abusing its dominant position.
