The effects of using your cell phone while it is charging

What about the battery of mobile devices? Sometimes they don’t last long enough. Unfortunately, some users choose to use cell phones while charging them. However, this can have consequences.

The specialized portal Betech explains that when we connect the equipment to the socket, the battery begins to charge and therefore increases its temperature in the process. What happens is that the device does not really charge since that battery is consuming it, resulting in a slower and more harmful charge.

It is not very harmful if it is for some quick activities that do not require a lot of energy such as answering a couple of messages or talking to someone, but if it is used to watch videos, play video games, use GPS, download files, talk on video with someone, etc, then we will be using functions that demand a lot from the battery and the processor itself, which will cause the temperature of the battery and the phone to skyrocket.

The damage

The cell phone overheats and will shorten the battery life more quickly. In some extreme cases, the battery could explode.

Tips not to damage the battery

  • Do not charge the cell phone to 100%.
  • Don’t charge it overnight.
  • Occasionally charge your equipment.
  • Use official chargers.

Remember that mobile phone chargers fulfill the function of converting and transferring energy, from an electrical source to the cell phone, but they do not represent a danger of electrocuting their users. (I)
