A group of Catholics in the Philippines celebrated Good Friday with crucifixions and flagellaas part of Holy Week rituals.

In the city of San Juan, north of the capital Manila, hundreds of locals and tourists attended a bloody reenactment of Jesus Christ’s last moments.

At the end of the parade, three people were escorted by men dressed as Romans and two of them were tied to wooden crosses.
Wilfredo Salvador, a thin old man, was crucified and both his hands and feet were nailed to a cross.while the audience took photos and videos and some drones flew over the scene.
After a few minutes he was taken down from the cross.

What happens at 3pm on Good Friday?
“I do this because I want to. I thank (God) for giving me a second life”, said this 66-year-old man, who started participating in this celebration 15 years ago, after a mental breakdown.
