Bolt, one of the companies providing transport services in Poland via the application, lost its broker’s license – “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”. The General Inspectorate of Road Transport was to accuse the company of contracting transport to companies and entrepreneurs who do not have the appropriate licenses. Tadeusz Stasiów, president of the Self-Governing Trade Union of Taxi Drivers of the Republic of Poland, claims that there were more irregularities. Among them, he mentioned incorrect use of the application for billing for transport, employing drivers for 1/16 of the time, while they actually provide services for longer or failure to comply with the formalities related to reporting drivers.
The case was also commented on by GITD spokeswoman Monika Niżniak. – The entrepreneur has applied for reconsideration of the case. The case is in the second instance – she said in an interview with the daily.
Information that the General Inspectorate of Road Transport has serious reservations about Bolt appeared in the fall. At that time, the General Inspectorate of Road Transport initiated proceedings to withdraw the licenses of a popular company. Earlier, the police carried out an operation in which they checked the drivers.
– Formal proceedings were initiated to withdraw the broker’s license due to the commissioning of services to entrepreneurs who did not have a license to transport people – Monika Niżniak, the spokesperson of the General Inspectorate of Road Transport (GITD), explained at that time
The police control vehicles for transporting people
In March, the police reported that traffic officers inspected vehicles and their drivers conducting transport activities for companies such as Bolt and Uber. Police officers checked whether drivers had the required permits to transport people, they also checked the sobriety of drivers and the technical condition and equipment of cars. The aim of the campaign was to identify illegal practices and eliminate driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
In the Kołobrzeg region alone, the police inspected 28 vehicles, including 19 carrying people. Four technical deficiencies and one vehicle not approved for road traffic were identified. A total of seven fines were issued, six drivers were warned. In addition, three registration documents were seized.
