Apple will release a watch with a built-in camera

Apple has patented a smartwatch that has a built-in camera. This is reported by Appleinsider.

The concept of the device was described in a document found on the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) website. The filing says the smartwatch could be equipped with a built-in camera located on the top of the device. According to journalists, the American IT giant may release this device in the near future.

The material says that the camera can be used for various purposes. According to engineers, the camera can be useful for user identification, fingerprint reading, QR code scanning, and video communication. In addition, the owner of the watch can use the camera to take pictures and record videos.

“The digital camera assembly can be integrated into a wearable electronic device in such a way as to minimize the influence of the digital camera assembly on other electronic components,” the authors of the patent noted. According to Apple engineers, a new type of smart watch should be shaped so that it does not interfere with wearing the strap.

Previously, Apple described the concept of a screen for a foldable smartphone, protected from falls. The patent document says that the moment the device detects a fall, the screen will begin to fold.
