“Recreational applications do not have sufficient levels of cyber security and data protection to be deployed on government equipment. They pose a risk to the data protection of these administrations and their officials,” we read. It was emphasized that the ban is effective immediately.

As the Minister for Digital Transformation, Jean-Noël Barrot, quoted by Politico.eu, said, the ban covers not only TikTok, but also the Candy Crush game application and Netflix.

TikTok on censored. The Digital Council recommends removing it from politicians’ phones

Let us remind you that the possible links between the TikTok platform and the Chinese government raise growing concern in Western countries. On Wednesday evening (local time), Shou Chew, the president of the company responsible for TikTok, testified before the US Congress. about the issues of data security or the company’s ties to the Communist Party of China. In turn, the United Kingdom recently announced a ban on the use of TikTok on the phones of British officials.

Similar recommendations were also issued by the Digitization Council, a government advisory body to the ministry responsible for digitization (currently the Chancellery of the Prime Minister). This was announced on Twitter by Karol Tokarczyk from Polityka Insight. In the recommendation, the council recommended introducing an order to remove the application from phones belonging to politicians and officials. It is about “members and employees of the Sejm, Senate, Government and employees of government institutions and public administration in Poland”. The exception is when the company device is used only for TikTok. More on this:
