Huawei Central: Huawei will sell smartphones worldwide despite US sanctions
Huawei commented on the corporation’s presence in the global smartphone market. This is reported by Huawei Central.
He Gang, Chief Operating Officer of Huawei Consumer Business Group, spoke about this in a conversation with reporters. Huawei will continue to sell smartphones globally despite the U.S. sanctions imposed on it in 2019, according to a top executive at the company. He Gang admitted that the corporation refused to leave the global market due to “high consumer interest” in the brand’s new products.
Huawei noted that due to sanctions in 2021, the company managed to release only one flagship smartphone – P50. The device, like other corporation phones, is sold without Google Mobile Services (GMS) and the digital Play Store due to US restrictions. Also, the smartphone does not support 5G networks. According to a top manager of the Chinese IT giant, these shortcomings were filled with “new functions and photography technologies.”
He Gang pointed out that the company has scheduled the global launch of its flagship smartphone Huawei P60 on May 9. In addition, the Huawei Mate X3 foldable device will be launched in Europe.
Previously, Huawei launched the P60 and P60 Pro smartphones with satellite connectivity. The company clarified that in emergency situations, the devices can connect with satellites of the Chinese Beidou group.
