Huawei Announces P60 Flagship Lineup with Emergency Satellite Support

Huawei launched the P60 and P60 Pro smartphones with satellite connectivity. This is reported by Huawei Central.

The line of flagship smartphones includes the Huawei P60 and P60 Pro models. In emergency situations, the devices can connect with satellites of the Chinese Beidou group – in this case, users can make and receive calls, send messages without access to cellular communications. The cost of the service and the possibility of functioning outside of China are not disclosed. In the fall of 2022, Apple introduced its satellite-enabled smartphones.

Also announced devices received a 6.67-inch LTPO OLED display with a frequency of 120 hertz, from 8 gigabytes of RAM and 128 gigabytes of internal memory, a battery with a capacity of 4815 milliamp-hours. The P60 and P60 Pro models are based on the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor with 4G support – the Chinese company is under US sanctions and is not able to manufacture and purchase fifth-generation modems.
