Switching from one Android smartphone to another made easy

Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo have made it easier to switch from one smartphone to another

Leading Chinese smartphone manufacturers have teamed up to make it easier for users to switch from one device to another. This is reported by the publication Android Police.

Media journalists drew attention to a post on Xiaomi’s official Weibo account in which the company announced that it simplifies the process of switching from one smartphone to another. Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo noted that they make it easier to transfer data from the brand’s phones.

According to journalists, in this way, users of Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo smartphones can quickly change one device to another and transfer all their data – including applications, photos, contacts and other information. Experts noted that almost always the process of switching from an old Android gadget to a new one – especially when changing brands – is fraught with difficulties.

The authors of the publication noted that the new system will start working only for Chinese consumers. However, in the future, corporations may add this feature to users around the world. The journalists concluded that Chinese smartphone owners do not have access to Google services, so it is especially difficult for them to synchronize data when buying a new device.

In February 2020, Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, and Vivo said they intended to launch a single platform to download apps to their devices. The companies formed the Global Developer Service Alliance (GDSA) to fight Google Play.
