Norma Lizbeth, a 14-year-old girl who was bullied at her school in Mexico, was beaten to death by a classmate during a fight on February 21. The minor died on March 15 of a head trauma caused by hard blows with a rock, aggression that was recorded by other students on campus.

On Saturday, March 18, the Public Prosecution Service issued an arrest warrant for the teenager who allegedly hit Norma Lizbeth. Authorities detained the young woman and handed her over to a judge at the Quinta Bosque Internment Center.

The officers indicated that the alleged aggressor is charged with possible responsibility for the felony of aggravated manslaughter.

According to Alma Delia RamosNorma’s sister Lizbeth, the principal of the normal high school’s 518 Annex in Teotihuacán, Mexico State, knew about the fighting against Norma but did nothing to prevent it.

“I recommend that to the schools, to the teachers pay more attention to studentsfrom a simple brush of the arm, from there the aggression begins. Just like the students who don’t shut up. (…) What I want is for all this to stop, for it to change,” he said in an interview with NMás.

“I feel calm because they have already caught her and at the same time I feel hurt because I know that my sister will not return with that,” added Alma Delia Ramos.

The Minister of Public Education (September) also spoke of the adolescent’s death: “We deeply regret the sensitive death of a student of the 518 Annex of the Normal High School in Teotihuacán, State of Mexico, and express our solidarity with parents, family, friends and colleagues. “

The SEP added that the campus “cannot be indifferent or tolerant of harassment or bullying”. The high school principal was fired after a protest accused her of doing nothing to prevent the attack.
