Sony has released a camera with a laser projector for people with low vision
Sony has announced a camera that will allow people with vision problems to take photos. This is reported by The Verge.
The device was released jointly with the Japanese company QD Laser. The kit consists of a Sony DSC-HX99 camera and a laser projector that is superimposed on the viewfinder. The built-in projector allows you to direct the image captured by the camera in real time directly to the retina.
According to the engineers, in this way, users with myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism can see a clear image without using other medical devices. The Sony DSC-HX99 camera has an 18-megapixel sensor and a 24-720mm lens. The built-in laser projector can operate on a single battery charge for up to four hours.
“We continue to use creativity and technology to make our products, services and experiences more accessible,” said Yang Cheng, Vice President of Sony. An advanced camera with a laser projector will be available for purchase in the summer for $600, or about 45,000 rubles.
In May 2022, Google announced support for visually impaired accessories on Android smartphones. In particular, the new version of the OS will have built-in support for Braille accessories.
