Bloomberg: Apple intends to increase sales of technology in India
Apple intends to expand its presence in India due to the growth of the local smartphone market. It is reported by Bloomberg.
As it became known to the columnist of the agency Mark Gurman, Apple has found a new promising market for itself in India. According to informed sources, the company is going to increase its influence and gain a foothold in the region. In this regard, the American giant recently reshuffled the management team responsible for its presence in India.
Last quarter, Apple posted record revenue in India despite an overall decline in sales, Gurman said. In 2020, the corporation opened an online store in the country and is now working to launch a network of offline stores.
Journalists from the thematic portal MacRumors noted that Apple will have a tough fight in the region. This is due to the fact that inexpensive smartphones based on Android OS are extremely common in the country.
Mark Gurman emphasized that Apple’s plans to reduce dependence on Beijing are connected with India. In particular, nine out of ten Apple suppliers from China intend to leave the region and transfer production to Vietnam and India.
Earlier, Counterpoint analysts said that the iPhone 13 became the best-selling smartphone of 2022 with a share of five percent. The second and third positions of the top are occupied by the iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
