Introduced record-breaking fast charging for smartphones

The Verge: Redmi Announces 300W Smartphone Charger

The smartphone charging technology announced by Redmi allows you to recharge the battery of the device in five minutes. This is reported by The Verge.

During the demonstration, the Xiaomi-owned Chinese company introduced the Note 12 Discovery Edition phone, which charges using the new standard by 50 percent in two minutes. A full charge – up to 100 percent – takes no more than five minutes. The battery capacity of the phone is 4100 milliamp-hours.

According to journalists, the new technology broke the previous record of Redmi: in the fall of 2022, the company released a 240-watt charger. “Five minutes is barely enough time to finish breakfast cereal or even unload the dishwasher,” the authors noted.

The company did not disclose when they will start producing smartphones with support for ultra-fast charging. The authors of The Verge suggested that, first of all, the company will establish the production and sale of such devices for Chinese consumers.

In mid-February, the Chinese company Realme introduced a phone with 240-watt charging support. According to the firm, it took about 10 minutes to fully charge the Realme GT Neo 5.
