“Currently I don’t think China will agree to arms transfers to Russia (…) I don’t see any indication that such a thing is even being discussedhe claimed.

The US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinkexpressed concern over the possible arms supply weeks ago in a tense meeting with his Chinese counterpart, and the CIA director said in an interview on Sunday that Beijing would consider such a possibility.

Meanwhile, media outlets in the United States quoted unnamed officials as saying China decides whether or not to send drones and certain munitions to Russia.

Asked about the US allegations, Budanov replied: “I am the chief of intelligence and, with all due respect, I do not rely on individual people’s opinions, but on facts. I do not see such facts.”

When asked where Russia might look for weapons, Budanov replied that apart from unconfirmed reports of shipments from North Korea, “Iran is almost the only country currently transferring more or less serious weapons”.
