Korean YouTuber creates iPhone with Lightning and USB-C charging
A Korean blogger showed an iPhone with two charging ports. He posted the process of creating a smartphone simultaneously with a Lightning connector and USB-C on YouTube.
The enthusiast took the iPhone 12 mini as a basis. Next to the factory charging port, he placed USB-C. Both connectors function in the same way, so using USB-C, you can not only charge your smartphone, but also transfer data from a computer.
At the end of October, Apple confirmed that it would equip future smartphones with a USB-C connector. According to Greg Joswiak, vice president of Apple marketing, the company will have to comply with new EU laws.
Later it became known that, despite the transition to a universal connector, Apple will still limit the operation of USB-C in the iPhone. So, special firmware will detect if the original or non-original charging cable is connected to the device and limit its operation. Apparently, Apple will be able to reduce the speed of charging or data transfer.
