A Russian Student Wrote a WRC with High Originality Using a Neural Network

Press service of the Russian State University for the Humanities: a student wrote an original 82% paper using a neural network

A student of the Russian State University for the Humanities wrote a final qualification work (GQP) using a neural network. Checking for plagiarism showed 82 percent originality, but the case is being considered by a special commission. This was reported on the website of the Russian State University for the Humanities.

The press service of the university noted that the administration for the first time encountered the fact of using such technologies to write a student’s qualifying work.

It is clarified that during the preparation of the WRC, the supervisor made comments to the student about the quality of the materials presented. In addition, the quality of the work caused discussions, the members of the commission fluctuated between “satisfactory” and “unsatisfactory” ratings.

“Only the presentation of the work and answers to questions persuaded the commission to interpret the doubts in favor of the student and rate the WRC as “satisfactory,” the report says.

Earlier it was reported that specialists from Osaka University used a neural network in chemical research in the field of enzymes, which helped to achieve a 30-year goal. Further research in this area will enable new breakthroughs in pharmaceuticals and biofuel production.
