According to the police, the 19-year-old wanted to help a friend who allegedly asked her for financial support. However, the girl did not realize that a fraudster had hacked her friend’s profile on a social networking site and asked for money. So the young woman agreed to hand over the code, as a result of which she lost a thousand zlotys.

Police are urging people to exercise caution in these types of situations. “Let us remember not to react hastily to loan requests sent. Before deciding to send BLIK, verify that the message was sent by someone close to you. It is enough to call such a person and confirm whether he really needs our help. This is the easiest way not to lose your savings” – emphasizes Sergeant Faustyna Łazur from the Lublin police.
BLIK scams are becoming more and more common.
