Insider: Apple plans to release a 20.5-inch folding MacBook in 2025
Apple has planned the release of the first laptop with a foldable display. This is reported by the publication 9to5mac.
Portal journalists referred to Ross Young, an analyst at Display Supply Chain Consultants, who announced the development of an Apple laptop with a folding screen. According to Young, he studied the supply chain of the American company and found out that in 2025 Apple could release the first laptop in its line that will receive a flexible display.
Ross Young could not reveal more details about the device, but noted that the computer, apparently, will have a 20.5-inch display. According to the specialist, among the suppliers involved, the future device is definitely called a “laptop”, but it is not known on which platform this device will work. The insider noted that Apple may launch a new gadget based on the iPadOS used in tablets.
Young also commented on the message of insider Ming-Chi Ko that in 2024, Tim Cook’s company will release the first folding iPad. The specialist stated that he knew nothing about this device.
In the fall of 2022, CCS Insight analyst Ben Wood said that Apple will release a foldable iPad before the iPhone. According to him, such a device may appear in 2024.
