Kommersant: Russian consumers often bought inexpensive smartphones in April

Sales of smartphones in the Russian market in April decreased by 30 percent. It is reported by “Kommersant”.

As MTS told reporters, the smartphone market in Russia fell by 30 percent in April in terms of units and money. The top three most popular brands in terms of unit sales was Realme, which received a share of 11.2 percent and displaced Apple to fourth position. On the first and second places were Samsung and Xiaomi. MegaFon confirmed that the Chinese brand Realme took third place in terms of sales in pieces.

M.Video-Eldorado said that last month Russian consumers were more likely to buy inexpensive smartphones. Svyaznoy reported that the share of Realme, which was ahead of the iPhone, grew over the year in units from 4 to 11 percent, in money terms – from 2 to 7 percent.

Experts noted that the supply of devices continues, but not in the same volume as in previous years. “Distributors make purchases as carefully as possible, so that in the event of a jump in the ruble exchange rate down and its stabilization at this level, they will not be left with the prevailingly expensive goods in stock,” said Anton Fomin, business analyst at Marvel Distribution.

Earlier, representatives of the SellCell service said that the iPhone 13 series devices turned out to be the most profitable smartphones when reselling. It turned out that in the two months since the release of the flagship Apple depreciated by only 16 percent.
