The amendment on reserving the date and time for crossing the border of the Russian Federation will apply only to trucks. According to Interfax, this was stated by the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Transport Yevgeny Moskvichev.
“This applies only to road freight transport, which is engaged in international road transport, so that they do not stand for 10-15 days without food, without a toilet,” Moskvichev said on Tuesday.
The proposed approach will avoid queues at border checkpoints, he added.
“And so, it will be possible to enter the state system in advance, which will determine the specific day, specific time and minutes of crossing the border,” said the head of the committee.
Earlier, the State Duma Committee on Transport approved for adoption in the second reading a bill that, from March 1, 2023, will give the government the right to determine the list of checkpoints across the state border, for the passage of which both carriers and individuals will need to reserve the date and time of travel.
Moskvichev introduced such an amendment to the government bill.
