The CES, which is just beginning, is full of new products related to monitors and TVs, as every year, but we did not expect such a device. Asus decided to put an OLED screen on the housing of the game controller.
Asus showed a gaming pad with a display
Asus ROG Raikiri Pro – because that’s how the pad was called – is a controller dedicated to work with the latest generation Xbox consoles and computers. It was created for more advanced players for whom the standard pad from the Microsoft console is not enough.
The distinguishing feature of the pad is, of course, the OLED screen with a diagonal of 1.3 inches (128 x 40 pixels), which is placed in the upper part of the pad – above the Xbox button. What can it be useful for? The screen should allow for switching controller profiles and displaying additional information about the pad itself – e.g. battery charge status or connection to the computer.

The manufacturer boasts that ROG Raikiri Pro is equipped with two buttons dedicated to switching controller profiles, four buttons fully configurable by the player, trigger lock, sound mute button and an additional joystick. The pad also allows for full adjustment of the sensitivity of triggers, joysticks and vibration strength and allows wired connection of headphones via the jack socket.
There are also three ways to connect to the computer: wireless – Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz radio, and wired – via a USB type C cable. Strangely, it is impossible to connect to the Xbox console via Bluetooth. Only cable connections remain.
The pad should appear in stores in the spring. The price remains unknown for now.
