Over the Bloomberg weekend, Twitter laid off another group of senior platform employees at its offices in Dublin and Singapore. According to the agency’s informants, at least twelve people were released.

Most of those made redundant worked in teams dealing with global content moderation and combating hate speech. Bloomberg reminds that these are further dismissals in the already weakened teams of moderators.

However, the biggest change in Twitter functionality in years is planned for early February. The platform is to extend the maximum number of characters for each tweet from 280 to as many as 4,000 characters (until November 2017, 140 characters were available). This is to allow you to express your thoughts more freely. According to Musk, the change will come into effect in early February.
